More Carnivorous delights from the "New World"...here are some more north american pitcher plants, Sarracenia and a bit of venus flytrap, Dionaea. I hope to prepare a bit of each genus onto their own page, but as usual, it's "work in progress" (some links may not work yet).

I am waiting for my mail order slide scanner to arrive at my abode so that I can scan images I've been collecting over the years, and thus freeing my old slides from it's dusty shoe box home.

Dionaea Muscipula: Venus Flytrap

Sometime during my grade one class back when the world was much simpler, my teacher brought this wicked plant into the classroom. It was the beginning of an almost half century love affair! I had been smitten. I spent the next few decades searching and yearning for one of these "mouthy plants". And believe me, they were impossible to acquire! Mail order catalogues would arrive in a year's time, and the orders would take for ever, show up dead, or never show up at all (after cashing in the cheque).

Here are a few photos shared by Bob for all of you out there. I'll write a lot more reminiscent nostalgia when I get some time between potting up and dividing up my CPs in preparation for Spring! In fact, I am thinking of starting to set up a CP memorabilia section on my website. Wha' d'yall think, eh? Write to me if you've got interesting things and items to share.
