The Ming Sun Benevolent Society is a very small family clan organization that my late grandpa had helped found ( all Head tax payers)… and from this organization came many of Canada’s first:
… and a number of sons of the Ming Sun fought for Canada, during the second World War to earn the right to become full Canadian citizens.
The society was recently honoured by the Mayor and Council of the City of Vancouver with a special day and a proclamation in honour of its 85th anniversary.
The Ming Sun Benevolent Society is going against the trend with other chinatown societies ( that are dying) through undergoing a transformation with a new generation of leadership with a roots search, family genealogy and community leadership program underway.
